I have a XP Home pc that randomly reboots itself several times daily. I have
reformatted the drive and reinstalled the OS and the few programs i'm
running. Does anyone have any trouble shooting ideas that would help me
locate what the problem might be?

I get a little shield next to the clock. I get this shield because I have
auto Updates turned off. When I click on this shield I am taken to the
Microsoft update web page. I then run a scan.

there and I can see when they were used last and how freequently they were
used but no Change/Remove button is available. I even tried in Safe Mode. I

If let my computer run for about 3 days my memory usuage goes from 300-400Mb
at start up (as per Task manager) to over 2 Gb. I think I've seen it as high
as 2.8 but the suystem alerts me at around 2.0. Adding up the mem usuage in
TM processes is less than the Qty recorded in TM ...

I recently did a partial Restore and loaded SP-2 and other needed downloads
but still shows "No Audio Device Installed".  I have tried downloading
RealTec HD Audio from HP and windows but still does not show up on the
"Hardware" tab of the "Sounds and Audio Devices" window.  ...

I can't figure it out, everytime I log onto my computer, my clock has
logged back to January 2003. The time is off. I reset it and when I
log back in the next time, it's back to Jan 2003. I've tried setting
it to internet time but it still reverts back to Jan 2003 when I log

alright, i have a problem. I can not run cmd. i go start > run > cmd but it
just opens and then quickly closes. what could cause this? i am imagining
virus or spyware, so i'm scanning for that. anything else?

Please please forgive this for being slightly off-topic.  I use XP currently
on my desktop machine but would like to buy a laptop very soon so that I can
carry on with my web site work whilst on the move.
I'm assuming that new laptops will come installed with Vista as standard.

A pc was running out of space and I found out .net was installed. There is
no application I know requiring the .net
To my surprise there was nothing I can do form add/remove program to
uninstall.
