I am using a personal pc with Windows XP Home Edition. When I try to defrag I get this message: Disk defragmenter has detected that chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume. Please run chkdsk /f When I run chkdsk I get this message: The type of file system is NTFS.

I am trying to install sp2 off disc but keep getting a message stating (setup could not verify the integrity of the file update.inf. Make sure the cryptographic service is running on this computer. I would be very greatfull if anyone can help me solve this, many thanks.

I've got a 300gb ata133 drive as master. I've got several other drives and have windows installed on one. Well, the OS only sees 127gb and it's a 300gb drive. It was working fine before, but now not all is seen. Partition magic 805 says bad on the drive for bad partition info or ...

I recently reformatted and now I can't remember how to get Explorer to display the number of files and size of the folder (along the bottom of the pane) being displayed. I know this is so simple, but I can't find the spot to turn this on.

Sometime, not all, when I send, forward a message to someone the message does not end up in the sent folder. I have checked the tools>Options>Send and have assured the first box is checked that sends all sent messages to the send box. What could be the problem or solution?

I found that my add/remove programs tool is missing from the control panel. I am not sure exactly when it happened but I think it was after SP2 was installed.
