When Internet Explorer produces a QUESTION box, it used to play a WAV file
that I had specified. Now it does an internal speaker Beep. Not sure what has
changed. All my other sounds work fine, just not this one.
Ideas?

Hi. I can not turn my monitor off. I went to control panel and set my
power-save preferences for it to turn off after 10 minutes inactivity, and IT
DOESN'T!! I checked my Bios and the power managment settings are enable. I
updated my video card's driver too and still doesn't turn ...

I bought a computer from an individual that had XP Pro w/SP2 installed.
I did not get any system disk(s), only the driver disks, etc.
I attempted to use the "update" tool, and of course, I was informed the
copy was "illegal".  Since I don't have the CD nor do I know how to

Hi all....
I have several external USB hard drives.  Occasionaly, Windows does
not see one of them when I boot the computer.  If I unplug/power down
the drive, then plug it in or power it back up, Windows finds it as an

it seems my modem cannot detect a dial tone to connect to internet. i have
done everything to assure modem is connected to computer. had diagnostic done
and was successful. phone line does work since i plugged in phone. reall do
not know what else to check. any help would be so ...
