Booted XP Pro with camcorder attached. Got the BSOD, ctl-alt-del. Copied
ntldr and ntdetect from install CD, pressed R.
Oddly, I can still access Web with DSL, and home networking still works.
Computer still shows me Logged On as usual.  I was/am the Admin.  But, all

It's a gigantic alert box when you opened an existing XLS file telling
you the file is ALREADY open and asks for ok, cancel etc.
OFFICE 1997 is the version.

I downloaded a Kim Comando virus killer and it worked, but when it discovered
a corrupt dll file, I deleted it (probably stupid); now when I boot up I get
an error loading message window that I just click okay on and continue
working; but how can I reload system32\jbgvikft.dll ?

I've got Java "J2SE Runtime Environment" on my XP Media Center with all
updates.
It seems like my PC is keeping all the old Java updates.

I do not want recommendations, thank you, but I would appreciate opinions
about this program, especially the registry cleaner. I used the windows reg
cleaner and luckily all was ok. I believe only those who can maneuver the
registry well should use regisrty cleaners but a friend ...

I've moved sone .doc files to another folder and noew i can't open them.  A
pop up says the document name or path is invalid.  I've checked permissions
and tried to change them from read only but it will not allow me to do this
either.

I just downloaded and installed the MS Baseline Security Analyzer to my
Media Center computer.
When I try to run the program I get the following error message: The catalog
file is damaged or an invalid catalog.

I did a Windows Update to SP2 when it finished and rebooted I received the
"Click User Name" screen with no options to select.  I only have 1 user so it
should have went directly to my desktop.  The only other option on the screen
is to logoff.

After having my internet access disabled, I was told by my ISP that there had
been 1,000's of emails sent through my modem, that this was probably caused
by an infected email, nonsafe websurfing, or using peer to peer fostering

Hi... Just got new Office 2007 and can't open tab delimited files using
Excel. Excel doesn't come up in the "Open With" program list.  I can go find
and select it, but it doesn't add it to the program list or open the file.

My School has a set of 12 Toshiba Tablet PCs purchased from Toshiba. Toshiba
shipped them all with valid Windows keys but no back-up disks - persumably
becuase the Tablet PCs don't come with any CD-Drives. As luck would have it,

I have a domain profile which the settings are not being saved. Once the
user logs out, all his settings are lost, i.e. any shortcuts, documents saved
to desktop, printers.
Each time he logs back in has has user.domain000, user.domain001 etc.
