This is driving me nuts and I need HELP
i have win xp and a compaq media center and internet explorer 7.0
many many many times ill have a few webpages open tabs or windows and my
internet explorer will crash wth a flash9d.ocx error ive uninstalled flash

I have a Dell Laptop and jsut found that the hard drive runs at about
57 degrees Celsius.  HD Tune says that's critical but I think it has
always run at about that temperature.  Any comparisons out there with
laptops?

I am going to purchase a 250Gb SATA drive to use as my primary drive, I
have three 80Gb IDE drives and a DVD rewriter. I am proposing to do a
fresh install of Windows XP home SP2 as I think it has managed to pick
up a bit of garbage. Will I have to re authenticate Windows?

I'm a software developer for a small company that makes Customer Specific
Machines, ie. each machine and Computer is unique. The Computer is a normal
PC with Windows XP and usually it's configured by the customer so it's part
of a domain.

In Explorer I arrange files by name however instead of starting at "A" the
list now reverses its order & starts at "Z".  Clicking on arrange icons by
name corrects this but when I reopen Explorer the list again starts at "Z" .
Any ideas please.

im trying to turn on my desktop and when i do it seem to go normal until i
get to the area where it says windows is atarting up (just before i log in my
password for my admin) i can u use dos prompt but not sure what i need to do
to get in maybe even safe mode, any help would be ...

message.

I am running a fully patched  XPHome SP2. When I try to install a
program of the type "xyz.msi" I get the following error message:
"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur
if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer

discovered that for most of the programs listed I no longer have the

On my laptop I recently moved my user data (My Documents) to drive D:,
while on my PC my user data still reside on C:
The move itself went OK, but one issue I hadn't thought about is that
currently the drive letter is 'hard wired' into the path names for files

When I select tools,internet options in IE7 I get the following message:

This just started for some reason and I haven't been able to restore my

Has anyone got any tricks or tips for resolving this issue? It's happended to
me a few times I connect a specific usb device I get the "USB Device Not
Recognised" bubble popup. Usually I try a few basics, different usb port,
uninstalling reinstalling usb drivers, the usb device ...
