a problem and all the neccessary drivers along with it, I also have Windows

I'm having a problem installing the .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1. Every
time I run the install I get SLxxx.tmp has encountered a problem error when
trying to install .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 and the update fails.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Keep getting the above BSOD on start up.
If I then reset at start again its ok.
Tried restore to period when it was ok, to no avail.
No luck with registry cleaners, virus checks et-al.

using microsoft auto updates, i recieve note that an install ready.  It's
