I have one computer with Windows Vista (don't like it) and one computer with
XP - sp2.  I want to transfer everything from the Vista to the XP. I bought
the USB Transfer Cable at Radio shack, but just like the Windows Easy
Transfer it don't seem to allow me to transfer from Vista ...

I wiped clean Windows XP today but now my Ethernet Controller and Multimedia
Audio Controller don't work.
My speakers don't play any audio except for the random computer beeping.
I know my speakers DO work though, because the song plays while I test the

check it with diskette.  I get this message when I open windows.

I have similar problems during a "repair install of XP Pro on my Dell Laptop.
Message 1: unregmp2.exe Entry point not found.The procedure entry point
getuims could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL
Message 2: dlimport.exe : same message as 1 above

My friend had a total system crash which necessitated having to reinstall
software on his system.  Now he tells me that everything looks strange on
the screen.  I suspect the text under icons, for example, is probably a
system font and not the default Windows XP font.

It can take 15 mins for startup to stop causing delays whilst I try to load
'office' or whatever to undertake my work.  I don't consider myself a techy
and have followed advice re start|Run|msconfig to see what is listed.

Sorry this not an xp question.  I can't find a news group around vista
in news servers. I see windows xp, nt, 2K, 95 but no vista.

I've been trying to debug an ActiveX User Control and have concluded that
there is a problem with my Registry related to COM Registration.  I'm not

Whenever we start our computer, a Dell window comes up and we have to close

I have just reinstalled XP and now when ever I am scolling through a document
or on IE it jumps instead of smoth scrolling.  I have clicked the smoth
scrolling button in the mouse properties but it did not help.  It is very
annoying and slows down IE and/or whatever program I am ...

Yes I have windows xp professional edition and when I boot my computer there
is this white line (looks like the one that is used when the computer is
