I do not want to enter Set Up, but am just curious to see exactly what appears on the screen during boot-up, as it might be useful one day! I remember being able to do it in Win98se but cannot remember how. Can it be done in XP Home, please?

Having an issue with XP Pro on my laptop. Have it plugged into our network and it boots up fine. However, take it off the network and try and boot standalone it will take at least 20 minutes to move past the "Applying Computer Settings" screen.
