"Turn Off Computer" Reboots Instead of Shutting Down11 Jan 2008 14:55 GMT5
I've got a Dell Dimension 8300 running XP SP2.
The following bizarre symptom started happening intermittently recently,
and I don't understand why:
I choose "Turn off Computer" from the Start menu in the lower left

can someone tell me what is checked in the tools advanced settings boxes,
someone changed what was checked and i cant find info on it ?

Simple question (I think?).

For example, in yahoo.com, i will put a subject to look up in web search

that is ok , it pulls up all my choices.
The problem is when I click on a choice link, it automatically switches to

After i had problems with the windows live one care and reinstalling it, my
ebay toolbar disappeared, the program was there in programs , so i
uninstalled it then reinstalled it, no luck, did it again, no luck. i turned

I get this error on both mine and my wife's systems.
Happens during a simple COPY/PASTE routine. We get this error code copying
anything into WORD.
Both systems have more than enough "resources" available.

Desktop Picture Reverts Back To A Different Background On Reboot10 Jan 2008 21:12 GMT3
I received a used computer from a friend that was used in an office.  I
changed the desktop background to one that I wanted but every time I restart
the computer it reverts back to the same blue background.  Is there any way
to keep it from doing this?
