I just reinstalled Windows XP Pro on my machine and when I boot it up
it ask for a password, which I never use. In my previous installation

I have my task bar set to auto-hide.  I have an ongoing issue where moving
the mouse to the bottom of the screen will not activate the task bar.  Since
