I have a Dell Dimension 8200 running XP Home with Service Pack 2.
I would like to repair XP. Does anyone know where I can find a procedure for
doing this without reformatting the HD?  Someone said I would have to
uninstall Service Pack 2 first. ???  I've looked in the Knowledge ...

Can't boot system.  Error message: cannot update register.  I've changed the
hard drive and the system now works, but I have a ton of data on the old  
drive.  Any idea how I can access this info?

Windows used to pop up a dialog box asking what I wanted to do with the
contents of a usb thumb drive when first inserted.  Now when I insert usb
drives, They are assigned a drive letter, but I get no Windows popup asking
what I want to do.  How do I turn that feature back on.

When I enter my password to start windows it then says loading your  
settings, it is now freezing right there, I tried signing on under wifes name
which is not password protected and it does the same thing, any idea what is
happening? How to fix? I am not that computer savy !  ...

I am using an HP 2200 printer on my home network - 3 PCs all running XP
Home.
The printer was networked and working fine until I had to change things
about a bit at home.  I was temporaliy using the HP as a local USB printer

Without warning or hint of a problem, nothing new installed or removed, my
WinXP Home SP2 suddenly rebooted, then rebooted continuously without ever
getting past the WinXP splash screen.  Could not get into Safe Mode.    I

For some reason everytime I install SP2 or SP3 (haven't tried 1 yet, I'm
assuming the same is gonna happen) my computer keeps give me the blue screen
of death on start up. Everything goes fine until the start up (Windows Boot

CMOS memory is wrong, and CMOS memory size is wrong.  I have WinXP Home SP2;

I have uninstalled a program named VersaJette UltraSaver.
Its name persists in the Add/Remove Programs tool (with no uninstall or remove
option.
I am trying to get rid of it from that tool.
