Greetings: Dell DM4400, Windows XP SP2, 1 GB memory. Problems are PC stops

Hi, can anyone tell me why after I set my time and date correctly on my date
and time properties, the next day it throws it back to January 2003 and the
time is all messed up?  I've tried eveything I can think of and I am hoping

My McAfee anti virus free trial that came with my new computer is about to
run out.  I want to install avg free.  Do I intsall AVG and then uninstall

The computer is a compac preserio with windows xp media addition, and when it
is turn on it immediately goes tot he admistratorsign in screen and asks for
a user name (no password) .  The computer has not done this in the past and I
do not know of an administrater account ever ...

when viewed in explorer etc but when I open a folder the name of the folder
