When I boot SVCHOST.EXE uses 99% of CPU. I can't do much until it stops. it
pops up occationally and runs at 99% of CPU I can't print or use applications
until it stops again. I can't fins a pattern to this. I have had this IBM
laptop for over a year, it is up to date on all WD ...

When I do a spreadsheet it is saved in the folder but when I exit Excel and
reenter, when I call up the item from the folder i get a windo that says
"file forman is not valid." Any ideas how to fix???

I'm running WINDOWS XP. I keep getting THE TROJAN HORSE VIRUS and I

When trying to install a HP 4010 scanner I get blue screen-registry
error-stop. Same in safe mode. How can I determine what is the registry

My 'Make Pictures Smaller' pop-up box no longer popes up when I e-mail

I need to locate all of the shortcuts I have made for my NotePad and
OpenOffice documents.  I know that I can search for all of the NotePad
'documents' by putting "*.txt", etc., in the search box, but I don't know how
to search for the shortcuts.  

I purchased a laptop that has XP Prof edition, but does not have the CD.
MS Help & Support is not loaded. I have another laptop and do have XP Home
Edition on it. When I try to load Help & Support on the XP Prof laptop, it
asks for the CD, and will not accept the XP home CD.

I lost all folders recently after I had to wipe out my hard drive. I was
directed to a link that mentioned .dbx files. The link didn't help. Is there
a way to retrieve lost folders in OE6 after completely erasing my hard drive?

My daughter's computer won't play DVDs in WMP.  I have tried installing
PowerDVD (v.3) but that says there is no DVD decoder and shuts down.  In
desperation I downloaded a programme that searches for decoders and it
detected "mpgvideo.ax v. 2.4.0.28" which is apparently not ...

Please explain what I need to do,  I have downloaded several drivers but xp2
will not let me install them.Why Im saying xp2 is the problem because I read
