This morning suddenly my windows xp donesn't load. It says that it has
a file corrupt in system32/config/system. I must repair the file.. I
inserted my xp cd and there were three options one was to install the

After I had to do a full system recovery, I reinstalled all my programs and
updates.  Everthing was fine except I had trouble getting rid of automatic
password window at Windows startup.  It was using an old user name even

Just restored a machine back to factory settings.  (OS+XP-HM w/SP2)
Clicking on Desktop-located web-links cause IE-7 to partially open, i.e.
frame edges only are displayed - application then locks up.    If IE-7 is
first opened, links then work.

I cannot burn or play a dvd.   It will play CD.  
I went to the Windows Help & Support (error log), it said   Device\CdRom0,
has a bad block.  What does bad block mean?  Will I have to get a new Cd/dvd
burner or ?

I "played" with some device *.inf file and having now problems:
1. System very slow
2. taskmgr.exe resides in c:\i386 and not in c:\windows\system32\
3. CPU cooling fan is every-so-often starts cooling off the chip
