I've been trying to solve this for almost two weeks now, but I'm completely at a loss of what else to try. I'll give the symptoms, what I've already tried, and what my lines of thought and troubleshooting have been thus far..

In XP, my midi sequencer program files suddenly show the windows media
player icon instead of their usual icon.
I tried deleting the .mid file type and creating a new one, but the wmp
icon still displays.

to  "Desktop in Display properties".     (They are going to "my pictures" as
well.)
How can I stop this & how can I delete the many pics that are in desktop now?

After a google all i could come up with was to do start>run and type shutdown
-a. The only problem is that my computer shutdowns so fast that i don't have
time to stop it. Is there another way to do this?

On startup my wireless network was not recognized.  I rebooted with the CD in
(SBC Yahoo DSL).  When it rebooted, Windows asked for a User Name and
password.  I have not used a password for Windows since I got the computer.

Well, of course it has been around for a long time and development on
bug fixes and security loopholes has stopped (to the best of my
knowledge) but w/ the recent turn of events in Vista vs XP and the
continued/extended support for XP rollouts on new systems I was
"jusched.exe" running 100% of the time. Is this normal?19 May 2008 20:03 GMT3
jusched.exe is running all the time, it is in the Task manager window.
I know it has to do with updates from sun java but can't I just update
my java myself? Must it run all the time?
Or is this a sign of something serious like spyware or a virus?

Hi..
Due to some odd things, downloading expansions to programs and games it
allways ends upp on c for some reason (probably in a tempfile). In the
begining i had the OS-partion (C) set to 14 GB and thought that would be
