i am having a problem with my laptop, i cant seem to get the brightness
lowered or highered...its apparently really dark but my systems
brightness is 100%...i hope you guys can help...

new disk, this installation disk is a purchased upgrade, (not the OEM

I am a Mac person, and my wife has an inexpensive pc with XP on it. We never
set up any password, but today my son logged off of windows by accident, and

Hi, I downloaded and installed an anti-virus program named SUPERAntiSpyware,
version 4.0.1154.  I need to stop the "splash screen" for the program from
loading. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

I think I located my system restore folder.
C:\System Volume Information\_restore{593172EE-14D9-4262-8426-24BF2115D284}
There are many, many sub folder (quite large).  Can I safely delete them?
What is the best way to delete older restore folders?

I installed IE8 and I don't like it.  Can anyone tell me how to get IE7 back?

I have a dell solo 9550 laptop I got from my dad. He purch. in 2002.  He used
for business for 5 years and its got tons of crap on it I dont need. Its a 20
g HD and only 2 g left. I want to wipe out the old crap and reload win xp,
but im not sure what I need to back up other than ...

All of a sudden, programs or documents that are open/running simultaneously
no longer show up at the bottom of my monitor (officially the task bar,
right?).  So, if I have 3 Word documents open, none of them show up at the
bottom, so I can't click on anything down there to move ...
