Is there is any way to lock 'add or remove program' so only admin can able
to download software.I dont like to create guest account,please tell me if
there is any way other.

(0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xEFB3E7FC).

On my XP Pro laptop I often get the following problem:
I click My Network Places, a window opens and displays the expected shares
from my desktop (XP Home).
I double-click to open one but if the network is not operating correctly for

I'm trying to repair a recent crash on my mom's computer. She said she
was having a webcam chat with my sister via Skype in the morning. She
connects to the internet via Verizon FIOS. All went well, after their
conversation, they both hung up, she left the room and left her PC on

Have suddenly encountered shut down and re start function problems. These do
not now function. Not a clue why not. Anybody know how I can get these

recently I ran CHKDSK and now each time I start my computer it automatically
runs. Is there a way to stop this?

When I try to install or uninstall programs, I get this message:
.........Another installation is already in progress,  Complete that
installation before proceeding with this install.
I've tried to manually shut it down through task manager but it opens

Background: So i installed SP3 and it caused my computer to the never ending
boot cycle. So i search about it and input the error in another computer on
google. "you computer did not find this file blah blah, so either use BART-PE
or your Windows Disc to repair blah blah".

I have a AMD Athlon(tm)XP 2500+ 1.85GHz, 5412MB of Ram. Installed Windows XP
Home and now I have no sound. System Other Devices shows error on multimedia
Audio controller. Can anyone please advise how to solve this problem.

I have a laptop that is running Windows XP Pro SP2.  It has been running just
fine.  The user had someone install an external hard drive.  Ever since then
when she hits ctrl/alt/del and logs in to our domain it takes about 4 to 5
minutes to get a desktop.  Once that is up ...
