I have a .mov file that I want to play on a DVD player that will play only these file types: DVD, CD, MP3, Picture-CD, CD-R, CD-RW. Is ther a way to convert this .mov file to a format that will play on a DVD player?

Like many others of you I had a problem of getting my Sony DCR-TRV16E recognized by Windows XP Professional. After spending several days looking for a solution in the area of drivers and software I found that the connector (not the cable itself) was fooling me.

When I try to see my video that I recieved from a friend, it won't play because it says that I do not have the necessary codec downloaded. I want to convert it from avi format, but Windows Media Player should be able to play avi movies. What should I do?
