A friend bought the Sony DVD203 and while I am very pleased with the camera
he can't say the same for the software that came with it.
"As the salesman said, just pop the mini DVD in the computer and read it.

unable to import clips into movie maker  get unknown

I am no longer able to play imported clips i.n Movie Maker 2. I had no
problem initially.  I even tried removing and re-installing Windows XP SP2.  
After placing several clips into the time line, I clicked the play button
and received "class not registered" error.

One of my students created a neat 1 and 1/2 minute piece.
She laid down a music track, then recorded narration,
dragging it over the music track. Around 50 seconds, both

I am trying to install DirectX9.c. Microsoft says I need to perform Genuine
Check. No problem. I install or run direct. It does not work!

I have tried to use several different HDTV cards as a source for windows
media encoder,
so that I can 'down convert' the bit rate and broadcast the HDTV show
wirelessly.

I get "Unknown error" message when I'm trying to play a file (any file) with
Windows Media Player. I use Windows XP SP2 now. Some other players experience
the same problem while trying to play f. ex. .avi-files. In addition, Roxio

There is a ton of software out there and can't afford to buy and try them all.
What free DVD software will allow me to create a DVD with good menus but
won't download any Ad Ware or Spy Ware software.

I'm having a problem burning a movie created on Nero 6 on my dual layer
compatible Sony burner, I can burn to normal DVD+R media ok.
Has anyone had a similar problem?

I have a fireware cable which i use to transfer footage to the computer
with.  The camera is however supposed to be able to be used as a live
webcam.  It doesnt work with netmeeting ot MSN messenger
Any advice?

I don't know anything about Windows Movie Maker, please no flames.  My
company would like to start recording thier meetings.  Could Windows Movie
Maker work for this?  Get a highend webcam with microphone and record the
meetings with Movie Maker?  What are the limitation on Movie ...

I am capturing VHS video from an analogue to digital converter (CANOPUS)
which is working fine. However at certain points during capture the picture
will freeze. Almost as if the machine is out of resources and struggling to
manage.

I'm using mm 2.1 and have the movie completed but trying to save the film to
my computer or anywhere else recieves this message..."Windows Movie Maker
cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original
source files used in your movie are still available, ...
