I have been able to play DVD's on my pc in the past. Im not sure what version my decoder is. How do i check my decoder version, and is there a freeware version of a decoder i can find anywhere?

I'm new to Quicktime. I've just started playing with it, and I'm trying to convert a simple mpeg 1 file to a MOV. I import the mpg, and it plays fine. I choose export "movie to quicktime"

I just bought a Sony Handycam, I can import from the cam and edit with no issues. The video plays wonderfully from my copmuter. When I burn it to a CD and play it on my pc or DVD player the Video is slightly choppy with much lower resulution. I'm gone through some many CD's ...
