I have burned some movie to CDr, it is MPeg1 movies. But it can't be played
on JVC DVD player. However, it can be played on Akira Dvd player, why?

i captured a party using sony handyman dcr-hc20 camcorder . then used windows
movie maker/picturepackage 1.0/windvd creator/nerovision express se to
capture the video to the toshiba p30 laptop(usb connection). after editing
the movie, i burnt the video to a dvd/vcd using dvd -ram ...

When I try to cut ads and other unecessary bits from a downloaded-from-TV
movies, Nero just doesn't work.
Is there somebasic freeware to allow me to lop off bits of a movie and then
save the trimmed file for Nero transcoding?

I'm using a Sony dcr-trv280 camera.  When I click "video capture devices" it
only allows me to pick from "Video Settings"...  I need access to "camera
settings" so that I can play with and fix the brightness...  Any advice??

Iam using Nero6 to encode and burn movies to DVDs.
I have finally got it all working.
But the encoding part takes about 3 hours for some movies and the subsequent
burning takes only about 15 min / movie.

Why won't XP Media recognize firewire connection?  I'm trying to copy from a
MiniDV tape.  When I select "capture video" I get the error message "A
capture device was not detected".  What do I need to do to get this thing to
recognize my video?
