DVD drive not recognising dvds?22 Sep 2005 00:14 GMT1
I have a Packard Bell Laptop (yes I know it's all my own fault!) with a
Matshita uj - 810 cd/dvd writer.
The drive does not recognise dvds anymore - was fine until the other day. It
will read cds and cd roms just ignores dvds.

I have managed to put video footage onto my PC from a video cassette (by
plugging my VCR into the TV aerial socket). The video footage is saved on my
PC as .mpg files & when I open them, they play fine on Windows Media Player.

After capturing, the video halts every 2-3 second. The problem occurs both
when editing, and in the saved video.  I´ve tried saving and capturing in
different formats, but  with no luck.  
Does anybody have a clue?

Well at the boot up it always fails/freezes as soon as the white bar a
bottom of screen is full(does the same everytime) and when it comes t
instalation it hangs once windows setup has copied the setup files an

I have Hauppauge WINTV PVR-150 MCE installed on my computer and am
using WinTV 2000 to transfer video from a VCR into a digital format.
