The DVD burning software stalls after 3% completion when I am trying to make a DVD from a recorded TV show. I recorded 2 shows over consecutive nights, the second burned fine, the first just won't go. Any ideas why?

I am wondering why some online video clips allow you to click on the timeline curser ( in media player ) and let you fast forward or go to a later point in the movie, and others will not let you do that and you must watch it ALL. Like in the AVID tutorials.
