I am trying to record the digital video thats saved on my cable box DVR onto my
laptop's DVD.  There is a six pin firewire port on the DVR (motorola DCT
6412).
My laptop has a four pin firewire port.  I bought the appropriate cable.

I have just bought a JVC HDD camcorder. When I transfer video footage to the
pc to burn a dvd disk it fall over. The file extention is MOD. Can anyone
suggest a program to process these files. JVC tell you to use Power Producer

I recently downloaded windows media player 10. I can play mpeg, wmv, but I
can't play divx or xvid movies anymore. I have the divx pro bundle loaded,
but it doesn't help with the windows media player. What software do I need?

the problem is that i get an error when i try to save my slide show to the CD
and it says that files have been modified, moved, or removed from the
computer because they can't be found. also we added music to the presentation
but when we opened it back up they all have X's ...

I am able to capture video but no sound. Sound is setup
to use device Realtek AC97 Audio (only option). Video is
using Conexant 2388x Capture. I beleive this is the

I am running Windows XP Home Edition and I recently purchased a Panasonic DV
Video Camera (DV-GS35EB).
I have managed to transfer the footage from the camera onto my PC via the

I downloaded WinDVD 7 (trial). It *tries* to play DVD but all I get is
garbled audio and still images which change about once a minute or a

the steps involved in installing it.  Do I have to disable the onboard video
