Grateful for help.  Just purchased a Sony HC 42 (Mini DV).  Had to buy a
Firewire and USB 2 Combo as laptop was USB 1.  For some reason, capturing
Video using Movie Maker and Firewire seems to take the same time as the
lenght of the original shot footage.  i.e. 48 minutes ...

im currently recording with ati all-in-wonder, and when i go into WMM and try
to import the files, it says that those files are empty. Yet when i play the
files, they show exactly what i recorded:

Hoping someone can help me out. When ever I play files is Media player
they're always appear in neon green and yellow and all blocky and skip. The
sound is fine just the picture is complete nonsense!

of the way through  and then get choppy and freeze......i played them on my
