Giga pocket and hardware overlay30 Nov 2006 17:34 GMT2
I am trying to view TV on my Sony computer with Giga pocket.  When I attempt
to open the  Giga pocket program an error message pops up stating some other
program is using the hardware overlay.  I do not have any programs open.
Any suggestion and or comments would be appreciated.

Just got a new Dell with MovieMaker in Media Center 2005 and also a new
Pentax Optio camera.  I made very nice movies with my old Canon A520, but now
it appears that I can't use my Pentax because it supports QuickTime and
MovieMaker doesn't.  Any way I can get to use my QuickTime ...

For some reason my computer has stopped playing MPEG video files on
Realplayer and WMP. I can get them to play on Quicktime so I know the files
are not corrupt. Aslo where before I could play video files embedded into
Powerpoint presentations and MP3 files also, that is now not ...

Compaq laptop uses XP home edition. Anybody know why?

Are there any utilities (commercial or otherwise) that will auto-detect
scene changes and split the video into separate files for each scene?
Preferably this would be done without re-encoding the video. I need
this for ASF (an MPEG4 variant) or DV-AVI files. Any help appreciated,

I have XP Home and notice that my videos do not show as thumbnails I just
see an icon. All of my photos and many other formats show as thumbnails but
not any video.
Anyone have any ideas?

When I tried to import a mpg file, I got the following message:
"Captured Media 001.mpg could not be imported. An interface has too many
methods to fire events from"
Would appreciate suggestion why this is happening and how to fix it.

have a movie on hard drive in avi format.
used vlc to convert to mpeg1 format.
have nero 6.xx updated to latest available from nero.
nero does not accept the mpeg1 file but does accept the avi.

Hi, my monitor keeps adjusting itself, specifically it changes the horizontal
sizing and then changes it back..several times an hour.  I don't even have to
be running any programs or other applications, it does it to anything im
viewing.  I'm running Windows XP.

I'm using wmp10 and when I try to play an mpg file I get the error:
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file is either corrupt
or the Player does not support the format you are trying to play.
When I click on the "more information" burtton I get;

I am finding that this otherwise excellent Media Player won't play
pre-recorded DVDs without lots of "noise" - it looks like the
"protection" kicking in - anyone know if there is an easy way to

Running XP and I am unable to get any one of several TV capture cards to
function properly.
MSI & ATI cards all give me the same problem - audio is OK - however, video

After connecting my (X1300 Ati) to my 42" Plasma Sylvania 6842PE I'm unable
to clone my desktop. I get no signal from the pc at all. I've updated the
video drivers and still no signal. I've also tried placing the checkmark
'Extend my windows desktop onto this monitor' from within ...
