My media player (windows Version 11) won't play videos but does play sound, i
have tried other media players and have no joy.It won't except any dvd's or
avi files or TS files but does play WMV files with sound and picture.

I have some old avi and mpg file videos that use to play but a couple
of years later, they no longer do.  ran AVI codec and the V. Codec
name is blank and the A.1 codec name is says Default DirectSound.

I have recently downloaded video (and it doesn't matter what the file
extension is.....AVI MPEG WMV  etc) and when I go to play it in my Windows
Media Player 11 the only video I get is the visualization that I have

WMPlayer icon but will not play in Media Player. Error message says :
