I have a folder containing *.MPG files renamed for *.mod files, when I open the foldr I get the 'eggtimer' then explorer crashes and sends error replort, I am using the latest video drivers. I have other computers where I can open these files and play them in Windows Media Player ...

Any file, any playback program. Video won't play, but audio will. After loading the file, cpu % jumps to 99% for wmplayer.exe. Have to wait 10 minutes for the task manager to even load before I can close it. Once closed, everything returns to normal.

i downloaded an mpeg file from limewire. i want to delete that file but i cant. i tried right clicking and moving it but i cant. when i click on it to open it, all it does is open my media player and nothing happens. it just seems to be a ghost icon, but it wont move.

When trying to view some videos, namely wmv files off the web, the videos look corrupted with a negative color image instead of the normal colors. Is there a setting that I have overlooked somewhere that will restore the proper colors? I'm using WMP 11.

I have winxp home and for some reason I am unable to get to volume control, u know where you are able to adjust sliders/mixers etc. I have the speaker icon on my task bar as always, when i left click it the volume slider pops up as it should and i can adjust level of sound,

I have a strange CPU spiking problem. When I open a directory of AVI's (and only AVI's, not MPG's or other video files) in Windows Explorer, and I hover the mouse from file to file, my CPU has little spike's as it attempts to read each file and display dimension / duration ...
