Used to be able to watch dvd movies on my computer; however, now my DVD
decoder is no longer being recognized -- n o auto play when I right click on
the drive icon -- no DVD play on windows media player.  No clue to what I
might have done to cause this.  Also have Nero Show Time, ...

I am trying to capture from my 8 mm camcorder into my computer using Roxio 8,
but I get only a roaring in the audio and no picture in the preview frame on
my computer.  I am using a composit hook up.  Does any one have any ideas?  I
have no manual for the roxio.

It's always bugged me how Windows XP selects the first frame of a video file
to use as the thumbnail for that file. Often times, that first frame is
black, or doesnt represent the video well, which defeats the whole purpose of

I have a ton of videos in varying formats (MPG/AVI/MOV/etc. etc. etc.).  For
some reason I have lost the ability to seek or fast forward *some* of these
videos.  So basically if I want to get to the 5 minute mark, it's going to

I have made a video that works wonderfully on my laptop and wrote it to DVD.
The DVD plays back fine on my laptop, but does not play back on any other DVD
drive or DVD player. Does anyone have any suggestions or possible reasons for

I wanted to take clips from all these DVD's to make a highlights DVD.  The
DVD's are all VOB files which I thnk is MPEG 2.  Should I encode them to
something else and use Movie Maker to edit them or should I use a different
tool?
