I am trying to convert Mpeg2 files, saved on my hard drive and originating
from my Sony Handycam, to wmv files which I want to play in Movie Maker.
Unfortunately encoder 9 crashes after finish.
Does this have something to do with codecs?

I had to re-install Win XP this week because I put in a new hard drive.  
Everything went fairly smoothly but now I find that I can't watch DVD's using

I am able to play music cds in my DVD rom, but cannot with movies. It will
not recognize the disk, any suggestions.  Oh I have tried to install updated
