I am trying to convert Mpeg2 files, saved on my hard drive and originating
from my Sony Handycam, to wmv files which I want to play in Movie Maker.
Unfortunately encoder 9 crashes after finish.
Does this have something to do with codecs?

I have some downloaded DivX files (1gb) and I
want to convert these to DVD pal so that I
can see them on an ordinary DVD player.

I tried to convert an .mp4 format using Bink and Smacker but it didn't work.  
How can I take this format and use it in Movie Maker in order to edit so
that I can upload to a website?  Movie Maker doesn't recognize .mp4.

I am able to play music cds in my DVD rom, but cannot with movies. It will
not recognize the disk, any suggestions.  Oh I have tried to install updated
decoders and drivers and this does not work.  My computer is a Windoxs XP.
