This is the second time I received a warning from my anti virus software telling me a trojan is present in a Microsoft update. ( Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Agent ) What is this company doing?

Between 2 XP PRO SP2 computers, i'm sharing my files in the same workgroup. (Windows Firewall is enabled). No problem at transferring files but the annoying problem is error log floods in "event viewer". After i transfer some files, i get a lot of event id: 6004 Source:

I picked up a second computer and would prefer NOT to re-instal windows xp pro on it as it already has that installed from the old owner. Is there a way of either re-naming or deleting the folder with his name on it in the documents and settings folder?

In the task manager under the processes tab I see this process running (upsio.exe) alternating between 0 % cpu useage and 45 % cpu useage over and over. What is this process? It doesn't seem normal.

I keep getting a popup that says I have critical errors in my registry. It tells me that I should donwload "registrycleanerxp" and that after installing it the notice would go away. Downloaded it .....installed it.....and the notice still pops up. Its annoying as heck....any ...

I want to set a certain .bmp files as the wallpaper. I right click on the desktop, choose background and find the correct .bmp image I want to load. Once I pick the .bmp image and say ok, I still see the blue background screen. The image was there on the preview.

right, we can clear the history in Internet Options, but on the address bar the url continues to display in the pull down. I try to hit the delete key but that does not clear them like it does in the pull down for the search. Ok techies, bring me up to speed please.
