Each Time I open the database I have made a dummy entry before I can call up the file I want to work on IE I have to letter the first file, say A, then enter and then done. Then I can go to FILE and call up the one I want.

Just reformatted a stand alone PC and re-installed Windows XP Professional. Then installed SP2. Subsequently 87 critical updates were downloaded but 86 are not being installed. Tried several times. What can be wrong and how to overcome this problem.

I have two DVD-R drives, a Plextor PX-708A (E-Drive) and a Sony Dual RW Drive (F-Drive). Both worked great until this week. Now the Plextor will read DVDs but not CDs, music or data.
