My XP Pro SP2 system comes to a grinding halt every time a CD or DVD is inserted. Whatever's running at the time just stops for 5 seconds or so while the drive spins up and the disc is recognized.

Can you please help me with Hard Disk External Problem? When I connect Hard Disk External to Windows XP PC with USB port, it has shown the Hard Disk is detected but it doesn't show the letter as a removeable drive (E:) in Window Explorer.
