Task Manager no longer displays me or anone as a user18 Jan 2008 05:21 GMT4
Until recently when I click on the bottom task bar and opened Task Manager
and went to the User tab it would show me as a logged in user.
Now it is just blank showing no user etc.
Any ideas whay this is happening all of a sudden?

Whenever I save, the dialogue box always uses the list view by default.
I find it easier to find the folder I want to go to by switching to the
detailed view then sorting the folders alphabetically.
Its so tedious and frustrating having to do this every time.

Well basically its that simple.
I have lost the prompt that should appear when ie7 is closed. You know the
prompt, the one that asks if you wish to reopen the current tabs next time
ie7 is accessed.

I googled and figured out how to disable this, but I am so mad about

My computer would not close down properly and so i had to hold in the start
button to close it.  When i restarted my computer the next day it started in
safe mode.  As my computer would not restart due to the same problem i could
not remove safe mode.  i have put done a system ...

I have recently removed a hostile program from my computer that disabled
several functions.  Among them are my task manager, access to a control panel
and the ability to right click on certain icons to access their properties.
The error messages I receive are one of two:

yes a grub error, but no numbers, and it does nothing after it grubs,
windows xp disc does its dance and finally comes to the restore screen, and

My speakers work fine but when I plug in my headphone it doesn't play on the
headphones but the speakers still play. It's like my headphone jack doesn't
pick up my headphones and i have tryed a few different headphones. Can any
body help?

i have a dell 8200 that i am trying to resuscitate.  a couple of minutes
after startup it becomes unusably slow, yet the cpu uasge show usually only
around 20%.  i have run registry, spyware, and cache cleaners repeatedly but
cannot get to the root fo the problem.
