Is there any way of turning off the Windows "I'm on" music? I know I can mute the speakers, but that mutes everything - including the 'low battery' chime on my laptop. I just want to turn off the Windows intro' music, as it annoys me to hear it every single morning!

I've got a file whose "Date" appears to be "01-01-1980 00:00" and which was "Modified" on "01-01-1842 00:00:00". The file was created last week. Two programs that access this file choke on it. One complains about "Parameter" problems.

I have a program that I want to run at start up but not show in the task bar, if possible, like maybe run in the tray in the lower right hand corner (where the clock is). Is this possible. I am pretty sure there is a way to add and remove things from the tray.

When I choose ClearType, some letters like "l" (ell) "i" (iee) and other vertical parts of some letters are RED in color. Similarly, there are some letters in GREEN. But RED is more prominent. How can I resolve this?
