I install Vista Ultimate on one PC. It is an HP Pavilion a1700n. I remove the 40 GB IDE HD from the HP PC and put it into a Compaq EVO 510 PC. Result: Vista does not boot.

while rebooting my window xp, the blue screen show up indicating - "STOP: C0000221 {Bad Image Checksum} The image SHDOCVW.dlll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the computed checksum". I can not get past the blue screen. I have tried to start in safe mode,

I look in news.microsoft.com and msnews.microsoft.com but there are no vista groups in either of these. thanks John

I am running XP with all the latest updates. All my programs are working fine. But when I went to my Settings\Add or Remove Programs, I find that it is blank. Nothing appears and the "Please wait while the list is being populated remains" on permanently.

My computer got infected by W32.Gammima.AG lately. After removing the infected files and cleaning up the worms. I got a problem that I can not open my local "C" drive. When I double-click "My Computer" then double-click "Local Disk (C:)"

Somehow I got hit with this malware and the file that is infected is C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\core.cache.dsk how can I clean this file? I am not able to do system restore. thanks

Internet explorer will not react at all to this website: www.bluemountain.com. ie7 will not take any action at all. Type the address in and press enter, nothing happpens. Any advice would be appreciated. Note that the website wasn't restricted in internet options.

When i try to backup through the backup wizard it errors out right at the start. In the report it says catastrophic failure. Any ideas?

About 36 hours ago, I was getting caught up on my latest submissions list at furaffinity.net as usual by middle clicking the thumbnails I thought I might like. When I went to favorite one adult pic, I got a message saying that I was either not logged in or didn't have my age set.

I started up my Firefox today and all my bookmarks have been deleted. I created a hard drive backup a month ago, so does any know where Firefox keeps the daily updates of the bookmarks? I found the default/ profiles/bookmarks.html but it is an older file and not the newest

I have recently come across a situation where a users laptop has run out of allocated space on the C Drive to cache offline files. Without increasing the amount of disk space needed for Offline Files which folders do I need to go in and manually clear out?

I have standalone xp but I would like to give it domain name so that in future when I have two machines connected with hub I can use them as network. I currently have workgroup workgroup as default. can I click change or network id wizard to give the computer a domain name
