I am running Windows XP SP3 with all updates up through yesterday (May 27).
Starting today when I select Tools|Windows Update, IE7 shows one green bar
in the completion window in the status bar and then hangs.  It requires Task
Manager to close it.

When windows xp home SP2 is started the My Documents folder is displayed in
a window. This is not generated by:
a) an entry in the Startup folder in the menu
b) a startup entry in msconfig

I have about 12 "Updates for WXP" as far back as 11/1/06. The last one is  
"Update Rollup 2 for XP" 12/29/06. Can I delete any of these?
I have about 30(!) "Security Updates from 2/15/07 to 5/14/08" Can I delete
any of these?

When I connect the camera to her laptop, Dev Manager shows Unknown Device

Every time I try to open a program, Windows Installer opens and tries to
configure scan.  Then I get this msg in a Scan box: "The feature you are
trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available.  
Insert the 'Scan' disk and click ok."  I've been printing ...

I want to create a folder named "Notes and stuff".. BUT I would like to put
some 'symbol - character - numeral' whatever to cause theat folder to be
listed alpabetically at the BOTTOM of the alphabet.. below the leterr z (if I

I ran an anti-virus program on a friends computer because it had several
hundred viruses and worms. After healing/removing all the malicious junk I
restarted the computer and received the blue screen with the following
message:
Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power31 May 2008 18:49 GMT-
Is there a feature in XP that might turn off a USB printer to save
power?  I am aware of the check box in my subject line, but I wasn't
sure which devices it applies to.
If it DOES turn off the printer, how long is it before Windows turns

I get a bunch of "Entry Point Not Found" errors when opening
MSPAINT.EXE.  If I keep hitting OK - it starts to load up MSPAINT.  It
just goes on and on and on...
I found a procedure (download new version of IMM32.DLL - it is dated

Is it possible to install and run XP on different partition on a machine
with vista already installed? So that there is the option of running
either system.
