I was doing a fresh install of Windows XP on my laptop, and I accidentally left my flash drive in the computer. Now, my system volume, which I want to be C:, is F:. I tried to change this using Disk Management, but it says "Windows cannot modify the drive letter

Sometimes my co-workers send me Outlook 2003 e-mails with an attachment [MS Office Suite document] that is designated as read-only. They have not specified that this attachment be read only. Why does this happen, and is there a setting we need to change? It's sporadic.

Someone gave me a folder where he made the jpgs hidden system files. Right clicking on Properties doesn't have anything. So how do I restore them to normal files? Do I have to shell out to the command prompt and set some attribute there?

The installation worked fine and then I rebooted the system as instructed and now my system is stuck in a rebooting loop. Can start in Safe Mode but that's it Any ideas?

Anybody else run into this problem? Normally, if you run chkdsk /f, and reboot, it runs it in that smaller blue console window, and then after completion finally boots up into Windows. Not doing that here anymore, for some reason.

I have a startup problem with my Dimension 8400 computer. I didn't do any update or install any new program recently. Since yesterday, when I turned on my computer, after Dell screen, my computer goes black screen. What I have done is the following:
