Just recovered from a hijack/virus/malware. Somehow the drives (C: hard drive, D: floppy) have dissappeared from My Computer...but they are still there and they are present in a newly created user acct.

I purchased a Compaq Presario V2310US laptop- it had Windows XP installed- and it was running great. I upgraded the memory in the machine to 2 gigs and decided to re-install Windows XP a week after doing so.

Open folders get closed on reboot? It used to be in XP that open files "stayed open" after a reboot. That was cool, a neat way and reminder to continue working where I was before booting.
