I bought this laptop from a friend. It has XP on it. When my cursor is on something for a few seconds it automatically goes there like I clicked it when I didn't. Is this an XP feature or what? It makes me mad and I would like to know if I can shut it off and how?

From Excel's "File Open" dialog box, I cut the latest version of a file to replace a previous version in a different folder. The previous version remained and the latest version was deleted and it's not in the Recycle Bin or anyplace else. Is this a bug? Windows XP Home SP2

When I do a system restore I get back up files in the "documents and settings" folder. The back-up files are numbered each time I do a restore and are in a folder that look something like this: "Owner.YOUR-US67PI6LUV.010". These folder's take up a lot of space, sometimes a few ...

Installed SP3 on this OEM tower I built a couple of years ago. No hardware has been changed or modified. After the reboot after a successful SP3, XP says my freakin hardware has changed significantly since the last activation. I beg to differ.

I just recently recieved a laptop from a friend of mine that has windows xp home edition. I also have an xbox 360 and I want to connect the two. I understand that I need xp mce, but I can't figure out how to get it. What do I need to do to get it to work.

A few weeks ago right after I first installed -- and then uninstalled -- SP3, I noticed I had an extra Add & Remove icon in my Control Panel. Although the 'extra' A & R showed a generic icon, it brought up the usual Add and Remove application.
