My laptop has wireless capability but when I'm at home it is hooked up to
DSL. The baloon  that tells me what the status is of the wireless connection
keeps popping up as it changes ( I live in a spot that doesn't get a strong
connection ).

I've noticed something odd.
For ANY folder (NTFS, XP SP3) a right click / Properties shows a
partly coloured R/O box, suggesting the folder contains some R/O
files.

From a DOS batch script (under WinXP) I redirect some Echo output to a new textfile e.g.
Echo blah blah >myfile.txt
Echo .... >>myfile.txt

after 8 (!) minutes of no mouse movement.
After screen saver activation I have to re-logon and re-type my password. This is very inconvenient.
