For some unknow reason, I've been inflicted with what appears to be an "AD"
from
MS each time I open IE6. The result of this is an attempt to change the
"First Home Page"

The installing update icon in the lower right hand corner shows that updates
are being downloaded but it doesn't happen as it shows 0% and then
