I use Automatic Update.  I was notified about SP3 and installed it without
any problems.  My daughter's machine is the same configuration as mine
(except she has not installed IE7 yet) but she hasn't received any notice
about SP3.  For what it's worth, the Microsoft Update ...

since installing SP3  in XP Pro, when I shut down I now get an update
shield in the shutdown window that says it will install the latest

Hey all,
Is there a way to enable Windows Desktop Search to *only* search in
outlook (and outlook public folders)?  I want to exclude the folders
and files on my computer from the search.  Is this possible?

Just found out that Win XP SP3 final release is out and available for
download. The file is almost like 400mb and this might not be practicable
with the kind of download speeds available where I am at.

It is it a reliable backup? Is my data safe to be recovered (assuming I back

I believe that I have a problem and I wanted to run System Restore to go back
to a point before I started noticing the problem.  Every time I launch System
Restore, it tells me that my computer cannot be restored to that restore
point.  I have tried every one and none of them ...

A friend recently formatted his HD and re installed XP Pro, there are
only about 20 or less processes running. Yet when he boots up, it
takes a long time for the icons on the desktop to fill in and the
taskbar is all blue. Finally after the icons fill in, then the taskbar

I was hoping someone in here could help me with a problem I've been
