Will be ugrading my PC, can I use the disc purchased to make my copy genuine
to install Windows Xp onto my upgraded PC.

Someone told me about an XP file that runs only  from the command line that
fixes any problems with xp including the registry. I run it once and it
asked for the XP CD. I forgot the file name. Any idea?

When I went to shut down my machine, and I get the window with the icons for
Standby, TurnOff, Restart, there is a message below that states: " Click on
Turnoff to install updates or click on this to install without turning off".
I had just finished running the Windows Update ...

I have no problems with this laptop...
but using the System Information tool I discovered that I have about 20 GB
of  NT Authority System files on my C drive which appear to be duplicates of
my hard disc files. What are they? Can I get rid of them? How?

I am using a Dell Pentium 4 PC with RAM of 520MB.
However I noticed that the response time for launching a software such as MS
Word or Ms Work Spreadsheet is pretty slow.

Is there any limit to the number of files that can be accumulated in
the Recent folder?
What are the files in the Recent folder used for?

Root key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT has the value:
ab(default)    REG_SZ   PHP File
None of the other root keys have a value (value not set). Can someone
explain what this key value means?

I've added a new input language on top of the default US input.
But every time after I restarted my computer, the language is lost.
I've to re-add the new language every time I restart my computer.

I can't change my background.  Followed instructions, went into control
panel, there is supposed to be an icon for 'appearances' but I have no icon
