After my motherboard died my hard drive was put into another PC (as a 2nd

Hi, I just installed SP3 using Windows Update (I had XP SP2 Pro fully
updated). Everything went fine, I restarted the PC and apparently everything
fine after the desktop showed up (no error messages, etc). But after

I run xp pro sp3 and I use mozilla firefox for my browsing needs.
When I am browsing, just about all the places I go an IE popup window
comes up.  It is driving me nuts.  I have popups blocked in both

I used to start BartPE from CD-ROM since months. It worked fine up to
a fortnight ago (last boot). Today it won't.
Instead, after the message that setup checks the hardware, the

I've hooked the modem to an Ethernet switch and the 2 comps (both
running WinXP SP2) with CAT5 ethernet cables. First computer is
connected fine (your proof is this post) but the 2nd computer ain't
obtaining an IP address. The lights on the switch confirm the port is
