XP - Device Disconnect sound for no reason26 Jun 2008 08:31 GMT6
I just got my first USB printer and it seems okay.  However, after I
turn off the printer, everything is normal for 10-15 minutes when
suddenly Windows will make the "Device Disconnect" sound for no
reason.  I thought I would fix this by going to Device Manager and
System32 folder opens at startup26 Jun 2008 07:43 GMT7
When I log into the system, system32 folder automatically opens. This is not
causing any problem but is annoying. Any idea how I can fix this?

From within Excel I generate simple text files (*.txt) and name them in
sequence: File1.txt, File2.txt, File3.txt, etc, etc.
The average size of one of these files is about 210 bytes.
I need to generate "a lot" of these files. Specifically, I need 2622 of

I have XP and I occasionally get the Apple Software Update dialog
box.  The last time it happened, it was after I'd closed my browser.

AVG removed a virus from my neighbor's XP Home laptop. Upon reboot the
machine stopped with white text on a dark blue screen saying basidv32 could
not be found. Same result in Safe Mode, Safe with no networking and Safe

Whenever I try to view files with windows explorer, it is extremely slow
(greater than five minutes) to open up and display the contents of the C:
drive or "my computer." This is happening with applications as well when they
do a search.

Hi,  I have downloaded xp service pack 3 and IE7.  I am using XP home
edition.  When i turn my PC on i now get an IDE configuration error message.  
It resets the time and date back to 2004 and asks me to reset the time and
date every time i log on.  Can someone please help me fix ...

i have a warning message during boot up that i can't read because it just
flashes on the screen. is there a way to slow down the booyup process or is
there any software that will log the messeges of bootup?
