I powered up my Toshiba laptop this afternoon and the Verizon logo is now
part of my top bar and in the Windows Search bar.  Kinda odd since I'm on
AT&T DSL.

when I start the recovery process for this error in Windows XP and I type in
"md tmp", it tells me "access denied".  I can't go any further to fix the

There seems to be a bug (or at least an inconsistency) in Windows Task
Manager: the CPU Usage History graph always starts with a spurious zero point
whereas the Page File Usage History graph correctly starts with a valid data
point.

I downloaded the service pack 3 a few weeks ago, and since I got a few errors
when booting up Windows.  Sometimes it boots, sometimes and m,ost time it

My son purchased a PC system from an on-line e-Bay reseller which was stated
to have genuine XP Pro and Office 2007 SE installed.  To cut a long story
short, the Microsft OGA Manager has confirmed, via supplied MGADiag Report,

I relative asked me why this message is occurring (along with no
access to Help).  It is XP Home SP2, and this problem has never
occurred before.  Nothing new was done, no new software installed.

Using XP Pro, SP3 and working from the command line
I did a recursive text search in files (grep) and received the
following message:

I have just purchased a new pc and added windows xp to it, upon updating sp3
was offered which I downloaded and installed.
Since installing the pc occasionally just shuts down and reboots for no
apparent reason, I'm seriously considering taking sp3 off.
