My son created an account in XP.  I want to eliminate it.  I do not know the

External devices and Autoplay does not work28 Jul 2008 09:17 GMT1
When I connect a Flash Drive or an SD card into my computer, the AutoPlay
feature does not work anymore.
I right-click on each device in "My Computer" and choose "Properties" and
then "Autoplay" tab.  Somehow it's always set to Music files but I choose

Good Morning all,
I have forgotten what you do when you want to organise the programs that
automatically load up when you start your computer. I`ve got too many
programs starting up and I want to stop them loading themselves.

HP Network Server ?28 Jul 2008 06:06 GMT1
I see that Office Depot has the HP MediaSmart with 500 gig for $600.00
which seems reasonable.  I'd like to network 5 PCs, 3 with Vista and 2
with XP and printer.  But in reading some of the reviews I see that HP
doesn't support printers and one has to go through a bunch of steps ...
Icon appearance28 Jul 2008 06:05 GMT1
All of a sudden the appearance of all the icons in my start menu changed.
For instance, instead of the Internet Explorer icon looking like a blue e, it
looked like a blank box.  Similar for Microsoft Word, etc.  What's causing
this, and how can I fix it?

I am running Win XP Pro SP2 and don;t see a need to update to SP3 just yet. I

Wallpaper Trouble -- HELP PLEASE!28 Jul 2008 01:11 GMT19
A WinXPSP2 PC got infected by the "AntiVirus XP 2008" malware thing
and it was removed, apparently effectively.  And it appears that none
of the other clients on the LAN got infected by this one.  That's the
good news.
What happens to previous updates when installing SP3?28 Jul 2008 01:08 GMT1
I am running XP Pro SP2 with all subsequent updates installed. I'm wondering
what happens to these updates when I install SP3.... does it remove them all
because they are no longer needed? Or does it see that they're there and just
install other stuff that it contains? Or what?

I keep getting "found new hardware" and I have not added any.  How do I find
out what the hardware is? The normal wizard cannot find any drivers to
install, nor does it tell me what hardware was found.
