Sometimes after I play a with Windows Media Player and I put a new one in, my
system doesn't find the cd drive.  I look in My Compuer and the drive has
disappered.  Any suggestions?

dear sir/madam,
i had a problem with an anti virus software where it is telling me to
reinstall.  however as the software came with the computer and i don't have a
password I need to remove it completely so that i can install a new version.

I have a client machine that is currently suffering from DNS issues.  
I can ping addresses internal to the domain as well as external in the
cloud by IP only.  when I try to ping by hostname the request times
out.

 When I play any video the windows media player's video is so dark that is
cannot be viewed. It is just like an encrypted video that is protected. All
video files can not be played right, including my own avi from camcorder.
However, all video can be played in my other computer.

Does anybody know of a utility that will wipe unused sectors on the hard
drive?  My old Norton utilities won't run on WinXP.
Is there something that comes with WinXP that can do it - like after defrag

Why are some applications -- Excel, TextPad, Word, etc -- listed TWICE
in the Task Manager?
(Other applications -- Task Manager, Firefox, etc -- are listed only

to assist with.
Having had a DVD fault fault which ruined his XP Home Recovery CD, the
manufacturer (MEDION) has supplied hime with a new one.
