...after working in Adobe Photoshop and sometimes other programs.  Even
after a fresh restart, then using Adobe to work on a photo or two, ...when I
quit Adobe, it exits fast enough but, Desktop takes ages to refresh, i.e. 10

IE will not open with Desktop Icon, but will when URL in my computer is open
or when I use a faverite, it works.

So this computer has 12 out of 19 GB used. Now, even after defragmentation,
do programs run slower simply because more of the hard disk has been used up?
For that matter, in general, how much is performance slowed down for every
